Colombia Mission Flights to Receive F.A.R.C. captive Officer´s Remains

A humanitarian misión departed on Thursday from Vanguardia de Villavicencio airport, in Meta, to a point in the Colombian jungle, set by the guerrillas to pick up the mortal remains of Major Julian Ernesto Guevara.

  On board of a helicopter provided by the Brazilian army, the delegation took flight shortly before 10:00, local time, and they are expected to return two hours later, although everything would depend on the weather conditions in the handing-over area.

Senator Piedad Cordoba is leading the mission. She travelled accompanied by Bishop Leonardo Gomez, a delegate of the International Red Cross Committee (IRCC), and an official of the Attorney General’s Office. READ MORE HERE.
